Procurement Specialist/ Supply Chain Specialist

Summary:
The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain strategic procurement programs, negotiations, inventory management, etc.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
oImplementing procurement projects and programs for cost improvement and supply stability.
This may include inter-company coordination where feasible.
Vendor negotiations, with specific attention to raw materials (chemicals, commodities, materials, packaging).
Establishing, managing, and maintaining systems of inventory management in coordination with production departments such as MRP, min/max, forecasting, or others.
Analysis and reporting of Client's purchasing results as well as predictive modeling based on industry information.
Management of capital investment purchase orders and status.
Vendor management and evaluation.
Assisting purchasing leader/buyer staff with daily tasks of issuing purchase orders as needed to maintain supply.
oEstablishing systems and procedures to better serve downstream internal customers (production, accounting, etc.
) Assist other admin departments as needed for vacations, backup, and duty-sharing.
(accounting, customer service, etc.
) Responsible for other duties assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
o5
years' experience with chemical/commodity purchasing in a related industry.
oPrefer a related degree such as supply chain management or business and purchasing certification such as CPM.
oDemonstrated ability to communicate clearly in written reports, verbally, and in PowerPoint presentations.
oStrong negotiation skills, analysis skills, and industry knowledge.
oAble to add, subtract, multiply, and divide proficiently.
This includes calculation of fractions and percentages.
oProficient with basic computer skills and general office software (Microsoft Office, etc).
